Choosing a Facial in Tunbridge Wells: The Facial Lab Menu
Clinically reviewed by Georgina White, NMC registered nurse and independent nurse prescriber, 8 October 2026

A menu built around skin needs, not trends
The Facial Lab is our menu of medical facials, and it is organised around what the skin actually needs rather than around a single fixed routine. Each facial on the menu has been given a name and a purpose, so that instead of choosing a generic treatment, you are choosing something suited to a particular concern, whether that is tiredness, congestion, dullness or an event on the calendar. Every appointment begins with a conversation about your skin, which is how we help match you to the right option from the menu.
The facials on the menu
There are five named facials, each designed with a different skin concern in mind. They are not meant to be interchangeable; rather, each has its own focus.
- Wake Up Call: an everyday skin-refreshing treatment for skin that looks tired or dull and needs a general lift.
- Antioxidant Boost: a vitamin C treatment intended to brighten, nourish and protect the skin.
- Skin Reset: a gentle resurfacing treatment that aims to brighten, smooth and refresh the complexion.
- Acne Buster: a clarifying treatment for skin that is congested, oily or prone to breakouts.
- Glow On The Go: a pre-event treatment designed to give a boost of immediate radiance before an occasion.
Because each facial has a clear focus, choosing from the menu often comes down to identifying what is bothering you most about your skin at that particular time, rather than trying to address everything at once.
Choosing an add-on
Alongside the named facials, there is a short list of add-ons that can be chosen to go with your treatment. These include a hydrating mask, a mini peel, LED therapy, a lymphatic cup massage, or a wand massage that can be either hot or cold. Add-ons are not required, and not every facial needs one. Whether an add-on makes sense depends on your skin on the day, how it is behaving, and what you are hoping to get from the appointment. This is something we talk through with you rather than something you need to decide in advance.
What happens during your appointment
Every visit starts with a conversation. As a nurse-led clinic, we look at your skin, ask about your routine, any sensitivities, and what has prompted the appointment, whether that is an upcoming event, ongoing congestion, or simply skin that feels tired and in need of attention. From there, we can talk through which of the named facials is likely to suit what you are describing, and whether an add-on is worth considering alongside it. This conversation is part of every appointment, not an optional extra, because the menu only works well when it is matched properly to the person having the treatment.
Who the menu suits
Because the facials are named for different concerns, people come to The Facial Lab for quite different reasons. Some are dealing with ongoing congestion or breakouts and are looking at the Acne Buster facial. Others want something gentle and refreshing on a regular basis, which is where Wake Up Call or Antioxidant Boost tend to come in. Some clients are simply preparing for a specific date, a wedding, a photograph, an event, and want the more immediate effect associated with Glow On The Go. There is no single type of client the menu is built for; it is built to flex around the skin in front of us. We see clients from Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding area with a wide range of skin concerns, and the point of having five distinct facials is that no one is pushed towards a treatment that does not match what their skin is asking for.
If you are not sure where to start
It is common to read through a menu like this and still feel uncertain about which facial fits your skin, particularly if you have more than one concern at once. That is entirely normal, and it is exactly what the initial conversation at your appointment is for. If you are unsure what would suit your skin, we would suggest booking a consultation with us so we can look at your skin directly and talk through which facial, and which add-on if any, makes sense for you.
General information only. What suits your skin is decided in person, at a consultation.
Questions we are often asked
Do I need to choose my facial before booking?
It helps to have an idea of what is bothering you about your skin, but the final choice is made together during your appointment. We look at your skin and talk through the options before deciding what suits you best on the day.
What is the difference between Wake Up Call and Skin Reset?
Wake Up Call is an everyday skin-refreshing treatment for tired, dull skin, while Skin Reset is a gentle resurfacing treatment to brighten, smooth and refresh. If you are unsure which suits you, the conversation at the start of your appointment is there to help you decide.
How do I know if an add-on is worth including?
This depends on how your skin is behaving on the day and what you hope to get from the appointment. We will discuss whether something like a hydrating mask, a mini peel, LED therapy, or a massage add-on makes sense once we have assessed your skin.
Is the Glow On The Go facial only for special occasions?
It is designed as a pre-event treatment aimed at giving a boost of immediate radiance, so it suits anyone with a date or occasion coming up. Outside of that, the other facials on the menu may be better suited to ongoing or ordinary skin concerns.
