Dry skin
Tightness, flaking and a barrier that stings when products go on.
Dry skin lacks oil; dehydrated skin lacks water; many people have both. Either way the barrier is compromised and the skin becomes reactive.
We rebuild the barrier first and hold off on actives until the skin is comfortable, which usually takes a few weeks rather than a few days.

Questions
Frequently asked
- Why does my moisturiser sting?
- A stinging product is usually a sign the barrier is damaged rather than that the product is strong.
- Should I stop my retinoid?
- Often we reduce the frequency rather than stop. We agree the plan with you at consultation.
- Does drinking more water help?
- It helps you, but topical barrier repair does more for the skin itself.
