Anti-Wrinkle Treatment

What is anti-wrinkle treatment and how does it work

Anti-wrinkle treatments use an injection to prevent muscles from moving. By preventing the muscle from moving, you prevent wrinkles from appearing on the skin over time.

How Long does anti-wrinkle treatment take?

The treatment itself takes no more than 15 minutes for returning patients, but if combined with a consultation then will require a 45 minute appointment.

What do we use it to treat?

We use this to treat wrinkles caused by “animation” which means wrinkles caused by facial expressions. Typical areas we treat are around the eyes (crows feet), the forehead and frown lines.

How Often Do you need a treatment?

The affect of the toxin wears off over time (usually a period of 3-5 months), so it is best to have the next treatment at this point.

Does anti-wrinkle injection hurt?

Not really, the toxin is delivered as an injection so you will feel a sharp scratch as the needle is inserted, however the needle is small and most patients consider it a brief period of discomfort. There is no lasting sensation post treatment.

When Will I notice Results?

It can take 3-14 days for the toxin to take full affect. We will discuss how you are progressing at your two week follow up consultation.

Is There any Recovery Time?

Some patients will see small “swellings” at the needle site, but these will disappear after 30 minutes. After treatment for the first 24 hours, you should avoid; rubbing the face, using makeup or undertaking any “flushing” activities such as drinking alcohol, exercising or using a sauna.
